All works presented at the exhibition come from Polish private collections, most of them - from the collection of Piotr Nowicki. The exhibition was supplemented with outstanding works from the collections of Olga and Wojciech Fibak, Joanna and Jerzy Grabski and Krzysztof Musial.

The exhibition was divided into several thematic parts, entitled: "The Triumph of Ideology," "The Forerunners," "The Second Avant-Garde," "15% Abstraction," "Abstraction and Figurations," "Sign and Meaning," "The Art of Opposition" and "Transformation."
