A publication discussing with German objectivity "the events leading up to the outbreak of war, the course of the campaign and the accompanying domestic and foreign propaganda." Also included is Chancellor Hitler's speech in the Reichstag on October 6, 1939. The Chancellor "reckoned on the supposition, albeit it proved illusory, that on the Polish side perhaps for once at least a consciousness of responsibility and reason would prevail over irresponsible madness." Excellent photomontage on cover (perhaps by a Polish artist?). Good condition. Cover taped; reproduced: P. Rypson, p. 380.
