JAN BRZĘKOWSKI
RAZOWY EPOS
AT TYSZKIEWI
OF THE YEAR OF OUR LORD MCMXLVI
IN NICHE BRANCH OF THEIR OUTHOUSE
Jan Brzękowski - 1903 in Nowy Wiśnicz - 1983 Paris - Polish poet, writer and theoretician of art, especially poetry
Samuel Tyszkiewicz - 1889 in Warsaw - 1954 in Castel d'Aiano - Polish typographer, printer and publisher
Konstanty Brandel - 1880 in Warsaw - 1970 in Paris - Polish painter and graphic artist
The XXXVIth publication of Oficyna Florentina is coming out as the eighteenth Nice successive publication, receiving the number temporarily occupied by the French badge, printed during the hectic period of the Allied landings, and the number of the next one will not be stamped. In fairness, this is due, given the almost four-year delay in printing: the typescript, received from the Poet in June 1942, has survived all the turmoil and troubles, so that finally, in a more modest garment than it originally intends, it takes up the place vacant for it in the Nice Offices catalog.
Lt. Feliks Radomski (pp.36-83) volunteered to take part in assembling the text of antiqua items 8. We reproduced the antiqua modo on hand-drawn purely rag ribbed paper with the Oficyna watermark (p.7), made at Favier's in Auvergne, in our hand-pressed press, transferred from Cimiez to Chateau Chambrun in Nice. We completed the printing on Easter of one thousand nine hundred and forty-six, maintaining our usual print run of one hundred and twenty-five pieces numbered in words in the pressing room and twenty-five named pieces in colophon for Friends-Bibliophiles.
