The author of the publication is Stefan Okołowicz, curator of the exhibition, outstanding Witkacologist
The catalog was created on the basis of the exhibition - "Angel and Son", which referred to the long-standing relationship of the father Stanislaw Wit kiewicz and his son Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz (Witkacy), a unique in Polish art dialogue between two artists close to each other, but also two generations.
The theme of the exhibition is the spiritual and artistic relationship of the father and son Witkiewicz family. The uniqueness of this relationship is evidenced by notes, photographs and letters filled with care and tenderness. They reveal the emotional and intellectual bond linking father and son. Handmade toys, watercolors with soldiers painted for the son, drawings created in response to the young Witkiewicz's fascination with railroads are touching. Through a different style of painting, the artistic independence of the two personalities becomes apparent, but at the same time several decades of common existence left a mark on the works they created.
