Album of early photographs of Marilyn Monroe(her name at the time was Norma Jeane Dougherty and she was still an unknown but aspiring model) by Hungarian photographer André De Diens (owned by Andor György Ikafalvi-Dienes).
The life of fashion photographer André de Dienes changed forever one day in 1945, when he met a lovely young aspiring model named Norma Jeane Dougherty. In those early years they took many adventurous trips together, and de Dienes photographed Norma Jeane in all possible natural settings in his original, inspiring style. He soon built up a huge collection of stunning photos of the smiling brunette, which helped her launch a modeling career and, a few years later, a film career that made her a legend. The photographer's entire relationship with the star, including many private moments shared only by the two of them, was described in de Dienes' secret diaries, which were discovered when Marilyn Monroe fans ransacked his home after his death in 1988. The de Dienes' photographs of Monroe, which numbered in the thousands, captured the making of the icon, providing a rare vantage point on the early development of a career that shot her to fame and eventually ended in tragedy.
