This anthology contains a wide panorama of Serbian poetry of the 20th century, which makes it possible to get acquainted with the climate, moods, intellectual and creative ferments, as well as to trace the directions of thematic and formal search in Serbian poetry over the past century. Presented here are poets already known to the Polish Reader such as Milos Crnjanski, Desanka Maksimović, Oskar Davico, Vasko Popa and Stevan Raićković, as well as artists of a younger generation, born after World War II, who have already made their presence felt in Serbian poetry. The anthology opens with Milos Crnjanski, a poet who made his mark on the entire 20th century, and closes with Ana Dumović, who made her debut in 1999.
The anthology was compiled by Grzegorz Latuszyński.
