Alexey Victorovich Shchusev, Russian Алексей Викторович Щусев (born September 26?/ October 8, 1873 in Chisinau, died May 24, 1949 in Moscow) is a Russian architect, one of the main representatives of Soviet modernism. He is considered the designer who laid the bridge between the style of imperial Russia and Stalinist monumental classicism (Stalinist empire) and Soviet social realism.
