The book "Independence by Poddębski" was published by the National Digital Archive, co-financed by the Head Office of the State Archives, Warsaw 2017.The project was carried out as part of the celebration of the centenary of regaining independence.
(...)The reader receives a comprehensive selection of photographs of Poland between the wars. Poddębski's photographs are divided thematically into five categories: "Great Investments," "Economy of the Second Republic," "Cities," "Countryside," and "Leisure and Relaxation." "Traveling all over Poland from Vilnius, Podolia, through Pomerania, Masuria to the Cracow Land, Silesia, Greater Poland and Kujawy, he documented ordinary and extraordinary places. He captured the unique atmosphere of the Borderlands in his photographs (...). He told the story of a unique historical moment: the birth and dynamic development of the Second Polish Republic (...). With the accuracy of a reporter, he reported on the everyday life of the inhabitants of Polish cities, towns and villages.
