Joaquin Alberto Vargas y Chávez (born February 9, 1896 in Arequipa, died December 30, 1982 in Los Angeles) - American painter originally from Peru, one of the co-creators of pin-up images .

Pin-up (from pin-up - to pin up, to hang) - a term used for a trend originating mainly in the 1940s and 1950s. Pin-up girls (pin-up girls) were beautiful and smiling, dressed in flared dresses or skimpy outfits/underwear. They appeared mainly on posters that men pinned on their walls (hence their name).
