Leopold Adametz - Austrian biologist, livestock breeder, anthropologist, professor of agricultural sciences at the Territorial Academy in Vienna, professor of animal breeding at the Faculty of Agriculture of the Jagiellonian University from 1890 to 1928. Doctor honoris causa of the Jagiellonian University in the field of agriculture.Forerunner of the scientific basis of animal breeding in Poland and founder of the Viennese zootechnical school. He laid the foundations of the science of animal breeds based on genetics and modern biological theories. Corresponding member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences since 1895.
