Wroclaw Group of Graphic Artists "RYS" - a group of graphic artists formed in 1969 on the initiative of Zygmunt Waśniewski and Janusz Halicki. It was active in Wroclaw.
The patron of the group "RYS" was the State Visual Culture Centre in Wroclaw and the Association of Amateur Visual Artists, while it was founded by a team composed of graduates and lecturers of the same Centre. Initially, its composition consisted of non-professional artists. Over time, its membership expanded to include professional artists. Its goal was to popularize exlibris. The Group's activities consisted of publishing thematic and bibliophilic volumes and albums of graphics and organizing exhibitions of exlibris, as well as individual participation of Group members in possible and numerous local, national, international and foreign exhibitions of exlibris. Group of Graphic Artists "RYS" played a huge role in the artistic life of Wroclaw and Lower Silesia. [note after wikipedia.pl].
