An exceptional historical work on Poland in the 18th/19th century and Tadeusz Kosciuszko in French. The author and his wife Annie de Montfort were co-founders in 1919 of theFrench-Polish association "Association France-Pologne". In 1923-1932 they stayed in Poland where Henri was a correspondent for the daily "Le Temps". Annie for her activities in the resistance movement was sent to Ravensbruck, where she died on November 10, 1944. The author dedicates the book to his wife, who was murdered by German barbarians, and states that it is the last one they worked on together. Both received the high Polish honors Polonia Restituta and the Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland for their work on Polish-French cooperation. The work is illustrated with 10 engravings and 5 maps. Note: Piece numbered! No. 13 of 27 printed on expensive velin paper! Very rare!
