A gilded so-called missal, or prayer book of parables, i.e. the parabola motif that Jesus Christ used most often in his teaching. A prayer book for every Catholic consisting of several parts. The first part contains basic prayers. The second part consists of the Mass and the service of Vespers. The next part is the liturgy of the word from the Old and New Testaments read for all the Sundays and major feasts of the liturgical year. A further part is prayers to the saints. In addition, antiphons, psalms and canticles, and the Stations of the Cross. The text is in Latin and French. A detailed table of contents is included at the end of the text. The prayer book includes 3 full-page engravings with parables of the Good Shepherd, the Prodigal Son and the Good Samaritan. Each page also includes mini engravings on the bordure with scenes from other 13 New Testament parables, including the lost ladder, the workers in the vineyard, the two debtors, and Lazarus and the rich man. The prayer book comes from the famous Brepols publishing house, founded in 1797 and boasting the title of papal publishers. The only piece of this prayer book available on the market is priced at 85 euros.
