Interestingly illustrated first original edition of the history of revolutions and upheavals in European countries. Volume six of eight in the set, it contains the history of Portugal, Greece and Poland after 1815.The text wonderfully decorated with 5 signed intaglio prints.Thefirst three concern Portugal and Greece, the fourth depicts Napoleon at the Palace of Fontainebleau. The last one is about Poland. This is a very rare example of an engraving depicting an allegorical scene of the Galician Robbery, the murder of the Polish nobility in 1846.
Period binding, decorated and gilt green half leather in average condition with some rubbing and loss mainly at corners; spine gilt and embossed with title; inside condition db, occasionally stains but dry; overall average condition.
