146. DECREE of CESSAR FRANCIS II HABSBURG on the unification of mining measurements.
Vienna 21 July 1819, 6 pp.
An exceptionally interesting example of printing from the period immediately after the fall of the Republic from the Austrian partition. Decree of Emperor Franz II Habsburg on standardizing the methods of mining measurements of all types of mines. The purpose of the decree was to establish a uniform method of surveying "along the vein of the mountain" throughout the Empire, all its provinces. Surveys of deposits were also to be carried out according to the measures of cubic fathoms of area specified by the decree. Thetext parallels in two columns in Polish and German. At the end, in addition to the printed signature "Franz", the signature Franz Graf von Saurau, Chancellor. Rare!
