145. DECREE of CESSAR FRANCIS II HABSBURG on the bonds of the Bank of the City of Vienna.
Vienna 1 June 1798, 6 pp.
An exceptionally interesting example of printing from the period just after the fall of the Republic from the Austrian partition. Decree of Emperor Franz II Habsburg on the issue of bonds of the Bank of the City of Vienna. The purpose of the loan was to raise funds for ongoing warfare, especially in northern Italy, where Austria was suffering defeats, and Napoleon, together with Jan Henryk Dabrowski, decided to form the Polish Legions in Italy. Composed mainly of prisoners of war - Poles from the Austrian army. The text parallels in two columns in Polish and German. At the end, in addition to the printed signature "Franz", the signature Josephus Comes à Mailath, governor of Galicia and Lodomeria. Rare!
