A beautifully illustrated edition of three ofMolière 's plays .The author actually Jean Baptiste Poquelin (born January 15, 1622 in Paris, died February 17, 1673 there), French comedy writer, is considered to this day as the most outstanding comedy writer in the history of French literature. Volume five of the series of the Author's complete works containing 3 comedies, including perhaps his two most famous: Tartuffe and The Bourgeois Nobleman. The collection is beautifully illustrated with 3 full-page engravings at the beginning of each play.
Age-toned binding, full leather in medium condition with minimal rubbing and minor losses, especially at the edges; spine embossed and gilt with title and geometric-plant designs, but also with rubbing; interior in medium condition, occasionally stained but dry; engravings in bdb condition with clear plate reflection; overall medium condition.
