A very significant company in the history of Polish industry. The company was founded in 1893 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1920.
Between 1924 and 1928 it built its plants - a car factory and a metallurgical plant - in Czechowice near Warsaw (now Ursus). In the final period of the Second Republic, it was one of the largest manufacturers of military equipment, producing trucks, artillery tractors, motorcycles, tanks and aircraft engines.
In the post-war period, the Ursus plant launched production of agricultural tractors. This activity continues to this day, and it is with this industry that Ursus, with traditions dating back to the late 19th century, is now associated.
