The Credit Society of the City of Warsaw granted loans in mortgage bonds, series V, from 1.04.1887 to 31.03.1892.
The mortgage fox that is the subject of this auction was issued on 20.03.1889.
All TKM Warsaw ruble-currency mortgage foxes are now classified as very rare, but the V series is one of the rarest - in this case the term "unique" is not an abuse. Virtually all of the issue was redeemed by 1914. The few pieces that were not redeemed were converted to 5% TKM Warsaw gold conversion letters issued on 5.12.1924. In addition, it can be added that the 250 ruble denomination of the V series was printed in the amount of 4,000 pieces, of which 3,672 pieces were issued.
We recommend - an illustrated piece in M. Kurek's "Catalogue of Pledge Letters" on page 301 - the only piece of this denomination that the author of the catalog reached.
