The Southern states seceding conducted themselves like an independent state including issuing their own bonds for the war effort with the Union. Decorative motifs with an upper vignette depicting a male figure. Smaller vignette at bottom with a steamship. On the right side in the upper margin in pencil "40" - the collector's object number. Valor in UNC condition, i.e. clean blank without circulation. Rare!
