Among the 107 illustrations are portraits of Polish rulers and prominent personalities, historical scenes, folk costumes and ancient clothing. Italian engravers (including Corsi, Verico, Adamo Bozza, Nasi, Cignozzi, Francesco Pieraccini) made the illustrations using the original compositions of Polish artists.
Bernard Zaydler [1799-1835] - lawyer and historian, member of the Society of Friends of Science in Warsaw. He graduated from the University of Warsaw as a Master of Law and Administration. Then, for health reasons, he moved to Italy, settled in Florence, where he published several works on Polish science, including a translation of Jan Sniadecki's Treatise on Copernicus. However, his greatest achievement became his dissertation Storia della Polonia, a work that took him, as he writes in the introduction, about 10 years .
