(At the end:) Expliciunt Sermones de tempore et de sanctis super epistolas et evangelia fratris Martini ordinis predicatorum Penitentiarij domini Pape cum promptuario exemplorum. (Estr. T. 22). Sermones de tempore et de sanctis, is a collection of over 320 model sermons dedicated to Dominicans. It is grouped into two parts by liturgical key: de tempore and de sanctis. This collection was created over a longer period of time. According to the findings of Dagmara Wojcik, this was the period from the beginning of Martin's presence in the Roman curia (1261) until 1276. Connected to the Sermons is Promptuarium exemplorum, this is nothing more than a didactic narrative of varying length. Marcin Polak (or Marcin of Opawa) (1220/30 - 1278), Dominican, papal chaplain, archbishop of Gniezno, chronicler, historical and legal writer. His written output consists of 3 works: 1) Sermones de tempore et de sanctis; 2) Margarita decreti and 3) Chronicon pontificum.... (here he included a story about Joanna the Pope). Initials in red. Traces of non. dampstaining and staining, few traces of woodworm, copy. slightly trimmed. On the first sheet stamp-exlibris: "Ex-Libris ... Albert Quesne", on the last sheet "Tabula" early entry: ""Ex Bibliotheca (Fra)Trum Minorum dola T 112"", rubbing of one word on title page. Binding repaired, early covers glued to binding made later, spine fingered, later liners. Estreicher gives the wrong number of pages: 271, in fact it should be 264 (including the last page is supposed to be unprinted and so it is here), so our piece is missing the 1st page of text (we have not determined which one). All in all a nice piece, very rare.
