Very good condition. Published 50 copies, this one without number, in secondary binding. Inside preserved front cover of original binding with embossed signature of the artist. Luxuriously published album containing, in order, an introduction, a list of woodcuts, 12 short one-page texts on the life of Polish emigration, 12 woodcuts (11 of which are hand-colored). All texts parallel English and Polish. Text printed on ribbed paper, individual pages glued on thick paper backings. Graphics reflected on handmade paper, mounted on paper backings, all signed in pencil by the artist. The third publication of the Polander Press. The colophon reads that the album "is a humorous and grotesque picture of the latest Polish emigration in New York. It comes out as a collection of 12 woodcuts by Andrzej Czeczot [...]. The texts were assembled in Półtawski's font points twelve by Mieczysław Rudek and hand-printed on rag paper."
A. Czeczot (1933-2012) - graphic artist, caricaturist, creator of animated films, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, interned during martial law, from 1982 lived and worked in the USA, in 1997 returned to the country. He was one of the most important Polish artists involved in press and satirical drawing. He also designed book covers and posters.
