TEN BOOKS ON THE ART OF BUILDING
Leon Baptista Alberti - (1404-1472) - Ten books on matters of building: De re aedificatoria libri decem (Ten books on matters of building), based on a treatise by Vitruvius. In it, the architect dealt primarily with aesthetic issues starting from the concept of harmony. He believed that good architecture could be created only on the basis of knowledge of ancient formulas and accurate mathematical calculations. Important for a building are its proportions, which he compared with the proportions of the human body.
