The Officers' Prisoner of War Camp Oflag II C Woldenberg was established on May 21, 1940 to house Polish officers from the 1939 campaign, and existed until January 1945. It was located near the town of Dobiegniew, about 40 km northeast of Gorzow Wielkopolski. At its peak it held as many as 6740 prisoners of war, 5944 of whom were officers. For such a number of people gathered, it was necessary to properly organize camp life, including the introduction of replacement money in the camp. The designer of the camp vouchers was, among others, Eugeniusz Pichell, whose signature EP. We can find on some of the vouchers.
