A beautiful banknote, with virtually uncirculated appearance. With a line of clear fracture 1.5 cm from the right margin, a slight central fracture and a horizontal deflection. Edges and corners without remarks. Banknote clean, impressive freshness.
Exceptional state of preservation for this rare watermarked variety.
A rare and sought-after denomination, printed on paper with a watermark in the form of interpenetrating bands. Numerator type 1 with one dash under the "o" in No and as in all known pieces of this variety (with watermark) we have the numbering printed in orange. The number sequence starting with 05XXXX , that is, this is an early printing of this denomination. The color of the bill is green, appropriate for the 10 marks 1940 Lodz Ghetto.
According to our opinion, two different colors of ink were not used when printing the numbering, the influence on the different color of the numerator over time was probably due to the paper used for printing itself, in the case of the 10 mark 1940 denomination, where we have paper with a watermark and then we have the numbering on it in orange, and on paper without a watermark we have the numbering in red.
From our observations of the listing of this variety, we noticed that orange numbering occurs in the initial printing of this bill and on watermarked paper up to a certain number sequence in the numbering, where after that we only have printing with numbering in red but already on plain paper without a watermark.
