Piece issued before the issuance of senate bills.

An excellent banknote with the second highest bill in the PMG register, where the population of all graded pieces is only three pieces.

This issue will most likely be included in an upcoming edition of the catalog by Czeslaw Miłczak.

The outbreak of World War I caused a shortage of small money. For this reason, between 1914 and 1918, the Gdansk Magistrate issued banknotes ranging from 10 fenigs to 20 marks. The Free City of Danzig introduced inflationary mark banknotes (1919-23) and the more stable guilders (1923-1939). The guilder currency remained in force until 1939, when Danzig was incorporated into Germany during World War II.
