No alphabet, with number 1001 to number 2000 for this "Specimen" type check with an impressive large format (approx. 33cm x 18cm) from the Ottoman period, unsigned, with pencil writing "Dec 21-1891" at the check stub on the left side and "1891" a little lower down. There is a "Specimen BW & Co London" perforation on the lower part of the bill, with "Banque Impériale Ottomane" written in French only. The reverse features a green rosette. There are no records of this type of check from the 19th century.
