A previously unknown Pekao voucher.
Voucher marked with unknown Ot series and red numerator.
The imprint in a slightly altered color scheme.
PMG classified the bill as an original, although in our opinion it is a top-quality, superbly executed forgery, hence not caught by the issuer(!).
Stamped by the bank on the reverse.
An item of great rarity.
In addition to state-issued banknotes, dollar bills issued by Bank Polska Kasa Opieki S.A. appeared in circulation. (Pekao). This institution was to act as an intermediary in the transfer of Western currency to those with families behind the Iron Curtain. The first series of vouchers was issued with a date of January 1, 1960. They had denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cents and 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, 100 dollars. The vouchers introduced were square-shaped so that they would not be recognized as a second currency in the country, but the next issue on July 1, 1969, was made similar to the shape of banknotes. The third, and final, series of vouchers was made with a date of October 1, 1979 .
