A unique, unrepeatable and undoubtedly the largest collection of lottery tickets from the Polish lands covering mainly the period from the end of the 18th century to the time of independence.
Such old lottery tickets even individually are difficult to obtain today. The owner of the collection and the author of the lottery ticket catalogs built it up over nearly 30 years, sparing no time and looking at no price in expanding his collection. Based on the search carried out while writing the catalogs, it turned out that there is not a single set of fates from the 19th century in Poland in the state archives and museums with more than a few pieces. Private collections are even more deficient in this type of memorabilia. If old lottery collections existed they did not survive the war and have not survived to the present day. Found from time to time, such old lottery tickets generally survived in family archives or, more rarely, as a supplement to the banknote collection. Today, due to the rarity of their occurrence, even being able to allocate large funds for this purpose, it would be difficult to be tempted to take at least part of such a magnificent collection. The only chance to acquire a top-notch, unique collection related to the history, economy and culture of Poland during the partition period.
The first photo shows a cross-sectional view of the scope of the collection. The following photos show each lottery ticket from the obverse side, as well as accompanying documents related to lotteries in the Polish lands. Some pieces of the lottery tickets have a characteristic erasure in the form of a torn corner. Some of the tickets were printed on paper with watermarks. Presentation of the entire collection very good.
