The last banknote of the Third Reich was the 20 marks from the April 28, 1945 issue for the Sudetenland and Upper Silesia district.
In the last days of the war, banknotes with a denomination of 20 marks were printed on behalf of the Reich Commissars for Sudetenland and Lower Silesia and on behalf of the Deutsche Reichsbank in an edition of 344,741.
The banknotes were most likely intended to serve as pay for Wehrmacht soldiers, since they were not in general circulation.
In addition to the 20-mark banknotes, 10-mark banknotes were also to be printed, but this idea was let go.
