A very nicely preserved 2 zloty 1946 SPECIMEN banknote.
The banknote is printed in red, in the form of a diagonal cross out on both sides and SPECIEMEN printed in the middle.
The banknote pattern is generally printed in very limited quantities, usually when a new, hitherto unknown denomination is introduced into circulation, and is intended for distribution to banks, cash registers to facilitate banknote recognition, as comparison material. Giving it the characteristics of a pattern (overprints) is intentional, it is intended to prevent its possible introduction into circulation. Due to the small circulation, the banknote designs are rare and valued by collectors.
