The period of defense of Kiev is considered July - September 1941. The medal "For the Defense of Kiev" is worn on the left side of the chest and, in the presence of other medals of the USSR, is located after the medal "For the Defense of Stalingrad." As of January 1, 1995, approximately 107,540 people were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Kiev".
