Interesting group of memorabilia of Sergeant Antoni Pniewski born 23.3.1898 in Pniewo, in the district of Ciechanow Mazowiecki, he was the son of Stanislaw and Paulina Pniewski. Before the war he was a soldier with the rank of Platoon Platoon Sergeant in the 32nd Infantry Regiment of the Polish Army. During World War 2, he joined the Polish Armed Forces in the Z.S.R.R. He later reached Italy with the 2nd Polish Corps, for which he was awarded the British Star for Italy. He was also awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords for outstanding service on August 25, 1947. After the war, he remained in Britain, where he was a member of the Polish Veterans Association. The group includes;
-Legitimation authorizing the wearing of the Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords, issued on August 25, 1947.
-Certificate authorizing the wearing of the Star of Italy.
-Verification certificate, confirming rank issued in 1942.
-Personal identification card issued by the Command of the Polish Armed Forces in the Z.S.R.R with a photo of the owner
