II RP, Bracelet of the Chief of Staff of the KOP Brigade Podole 1933. Bracelet made of gold with superimposed miniature (23 x 17 mm) badge of the Border Protection Corps made in silver. On the clasp pre-war Polish gold sample 3. Weight of the whole 13,7 g. On the inside of the bracelet engraved dedication: "To Capt. Dipl. / Kurnatowski / Commander and Officers / of the Brigade Staff / "Podole" / 1933." Condition of preservation very good.

Maksymilian Kurnatowski (born February 14, 1898, died probably in November 1941 in the USSR) - a certified major of infantry of the Polish Army.

Biography:

Maksymilian Kurnatowski was born on February 14, 1898, and was enlisted in the Polish Army after the end of World War I. He was promoted to the rank of infantry captain with seniority as of June 1, 1919. In 1923 he was an officer in the 81st infantry regiment in Grodno. In January 1924 he was assigned to Detachment V of the Staff of Corps District Command No. III in Grodno. In August of that year, he was transferred to the 83rd Infantry Regiment in Kobrin. He then took the 1928-1930 Course at the Higher Military School (IX promotion), earning the title of a certified officer. He was transferred to the Border Protection Corps and from November 1, 1930 to January 26, 1934 served as chief of staff of the KOP "Podole" Brigade in Chortkiv, after which he was transferred to the Corps District Command No. VI in Lviv. In the later 1930s he was promoted to the rank of major. From April 1937 to March 1939 he served in military intelligence in Moscow, then was a battalion commander in the 76th Infantry Regiment. After the outbreak of World War II 1939, during the September campaign, he served as a staff clerk for the "Prussia" Army and the Northern Front. He was taken prisoner by the Soviets, imprisoned in the Kozelsk camp, from where he was sent to Moscow on January 23, 1940, at the disposal of the 5th Department of the NKVD GUGB. According to one account, he died in November 1941 on the territory of the USSR in the Pache camp.
