Badge of the Lodzer Deutsche Gymnasium - German Gymnasium in Lodz.
Shield with the initial LDG superimposed. Surrounded by a wreath. At the top a Swastika. Silver plated tombstone. Dimension 33 x 25 mm. Reverse plain. Safety pin clasp.
The school was founded in 1906 at 65 Al..Kosciuszko St. After the Germans occupied Lodz in September 1939, the name of the school was left unchanged. It is especially about the word Lodzer, which conflicted with the new name of the city Litzmanstadt. A swastika in a wreath was added to the existing badge. In January 1940, the school's name was changed to Staattiche Oberschule fur Jungen, resulting in the withdrawal of the badge. Its life in this form was short-lived, as it lasted only three months. The badge is complete, in very good condition. Very rare.
