A unique kimekomi ningyō doll depicting a young warrior in full battle dress holding a naginata, a traditional Japanese weapon used in hand-to-hand combat. Behind his belt, however, the figure has a katana holstered. Precisely crafted, she displays the classic features of this type of doll: hand-painted, face with delicate expression and carefully selected silk costumes. Every detail, from the embroidery on the kimono to the armor, has been intricately crafted. The doll's face and hands are made of porcelain, the body is made of wood, while the costumes are made of authentic fragments of silk kimonos.
The doll is housed in a glass case with a wooden frame, which emphasizes its collector value and provides protection from damage.
The accompanying wooden plaque bears the inscription "Hashi Benkeia." This is a reference to the figure of the legendary Japanese warrior and monk named Benkei and the bridge (hashi). Item in excellent collector's condition, with no visible damage, all original elements preserved.
