Tsuru means crane in Japanese. Cranes (鶴, つる) are animals that have an established place in Japanese beliefs. They are a symbol of luck and longevity. . They accompany, for example, one of the Seven Gods of Luck (七福神, しちふくじん), Fukurokuju (福禄寿).
Technique: hand-painted on silk.
Dimensions: 173 cm x 50 cm, painting dimension 108, 5 cm x 41 cm, box 55 cm x 8 cm x 8 cm.
The scroll is accompanied by a document with the author's signature
Dated: 1930
Signed.
