BIO:
Tadeusz Dominik (1928-2014) - painter, printmaker, sculptor, creator of artistic textiles and ceramist. From 1946 to 1951 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his diploma in 1953 in the studio of Prof. Jan Cybis. In 1958-1959 he was in Paris on a scholarship from the French Government, and later in the United States on a Ford Foundation scholarship. He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts and was dean of the Faculty of Painting. He came from a poor farming family but painted since childhood. Tadeusz Dominik is not associated with any particular art movement.
He made his debut abroad in 1956 at the XXVIII Venice Biennale.
His works are in the collections of the National Museums in Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw, Szczecin, as well as in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Museo de Bellas Artes in Caracas, Albertina Gallery in Vienna, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and in private collections at home and abroad.
