Miroslaw Kantoch - born November 13, 1959 in Cieszyn.
He was interested in painting from an early age, and started painting at the age of 16. His paintings are maintained in an impressionistic mood, he tries to capture the changing effects of light. His works are mostly inspired by shots of waterfalls, ravines and mysterious forest retreats. He supplemented and perfected his technique by working with art professors at the University of Silesia and belonged to the Matice Ziemi Cieszyńskiej, art section. His paintings were among the most outstanding artists of Cieszyn Silesia in the exhibition "Cieszyn Land in the work of the region's artists." The exhibition came out of the initiative of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts, and the works were exhibited in the Old Kordegard in Warsaw. His works have been exhibited and honored in many galleries, in addition to being in private collections abroad, including in the USA, Canada, Italy, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany.
