JAROSLAW JASNIKOWSKI
Jaroslaw Jaśnikowski - artist, born in Legnica in 1976. He has been painting since 1991. He took the first steps on his creative path under the guidance of Miroslawa Lickiewicz, a Legnica-based artist and educator. At that time, the main inspiration of the young artist is Science-Fiction art. In the mid-1990s he discovers the work of Salvador Dali, and other Surrealists, while in 1998, under the influence of Wojciech Siudmak's exhibition at the Legnica Copper Museum, as well as a meeting with the artist himself, he decides to devote himself to work in such directions as surrealism or fantastic realism. In the same year, he also begins studying at the Glogow Fine Arts College, where he meets a well-known Glogow painter and poet; Telemach Pilitsidis. Under his guidance, he passes his diploma in painting in 2001. Today, Yasnikovsky is one of the leading creators of fantasy realism in Poland, his paintings are in collections around the world. Jaroslaw Jasnikowski's paintings are a kind of account of the artist's journey through unknown worlds. Creating a different reality, the author subjects it to completely different laws of physics, making a mockery of gravity or the properties of matter. Although in many places Jarek's "Alternative Worlds" are very reminiscent of the reality we encounter on a daily basis, we very quickly notice that this apparent similarity is only a pillar on which the artist builds his own world. Yasnikovsky's paintings are also characterized by the author's love of all kinds of fantastic vehicles, machines, as well as his love of the Gothic. His paintings are shrouded in dark mystery, creating a unique atmosphere characteristic of this artist's work.
