Container - a flacon for fragrances (?)

coconut shell, silver plate (?), filigree; coral; height 16.5 cm, foot diameter 7.5 cm, belly diameter 8 cm.
Europe, Maghreb countries, 19th century.
Vessel supported on a circular, arched foot, divided into 4 fields: in each field a decoration in the form of a 4-pointed star camouflaged with coral. Ovoid body, made of coconut shell, framed in silver plate, with similar decoration with star motif. The nut additionally framed by 4 vertical, flat slats with wavy edges; on one of them a movable spatula placed in sleeves, probably for scooping fragrances from inside the container. The top of the shell decorated similarly to the foot, topped with a narrow neck closed with a domed cap.
