Lot description Show orginal version
acrylic, fabric, framed: 108 x 102 cm, signed l.g.: David Pataraia

Born in 1971 in Lanchchuti, Georgia. In 1990 graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Tbilisi under Gog Cereteli, David Uruzhadze, Tamaz Chchaidze. Since 1991 he has been living in Poland. He studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, at the Faculty of Painting in Poznan and in Cracow. He has had dozens of exhibitions, both solo and collective and his works are in the homes of collectors around the world. David Pataraia is an artist endowed with exceptional sensitivity and imagination. His work is characterized by extraordinary diversity. In addition to colorful works dedicated to children, we can also find: nudes, abstractions, paintings with the image of a bull and a rooster, as well as works referring to the traditions and culture in which he grew up. Among the richness of the subjects he addresses, we can easily find a common denominator. All works are characterized by a wealth of color, saturated, intense colors, thanks to which the artist infects us with his optimism. Looking at them, we smile in spite of ourselves. In the reality created by David, the viewer and the work enter into a very close, personal contact. It's difficult to keep our distance when the artist himself invites us to join in the fun and experience. The artist uses not only different techniques, but also materials. Using wood, metal or plastic, he creates 3D paintings. This combination of different textures and raw materials allows us to "touch" the reality created by the artist. David is an artist with strong moral postulates. When he learned about the activities of the STUS collective, he created a new series of works within a week to support the auction. The proceeds from the sale of all of David's paintings will go entirely towards the purchase of tactical stasis for Ukrainian medics. Thanks to the artist's involvement, the collective has been given a great opportunity to show aid to people affected by the war.
