800 stamped sterling silver (goldsmith's monogram M R. , sample 800, crescent, crown, Polish mark from 1922-1932 and pawnbroker's mark);
Height 10 cm, width 38 cm, depth 19 cm; weight 600 g.
Germany, late 19th - 1st quarter of the 20th century.
Oval platter, supported on four curved legs, decorated at the base with floral motifs; the body spirally cannelled, with a blind leaf ornament on the shorter axis and two c-shaped acanthus leaf handles on the longer axis; the top edge wavy-cut decorated with an openwork braided band. At the bottom, italic engraved dedication: To the Dear Children - / on the first anniversary of their Wedding / Mom / 13.VI. 1954 r.
