Mass water ampoule

Wrought silver, repoussed, partly gilded, unstamped; height 15 cm, width 11 cm, depth 6.5 cm; weight 177 g.
Germany, early 17th century.
In the form of a jug on a circular profiled foot, with a short stem, with a conical, internally gilded rim, covered at the bottom with knolls, smooth above, with a triangular spout with a heart-shaped cut-out, with an S-shaped ear ending in volutes, with a profiled, arched lid, with the letter A (Aqua-woda) at the hinge. The base, top and lid are decorated with gilt stripes.
Preserved condition: repairs on the foot.
