Burial cards of Wehrmacht officers from the period of fighting for the liberation of Gdansk and its surroundings

Collection of over 500 pieces, dimensions 15 × 21 cm

Each card contains the following information about the buried officers: military unit, place of burial with a precise indication of the number of the plot and grave, surname and first name, military rank, date and place of birth, date and place of death, identification number, address of the family, cause of death, number and date of burial. A large number of cards have almost all the boxes filled in, others only partially. About 30 cards are victims of the air raid on 27.01.1945. Gdansk's Srebrzysko cemetery was opened in 1924.After the outbreak of World War II, mainly soldiers of the Wehrmacht and other formations were buried in the cemetery. Burials were not numerous at first, but after 1943 there were more.
