The First Edition 26-year-old Tormore 0.7L 45.7% vintage 1992; Bottle one of 258. Tormore is one of Scotland's younger whisky distilleries. Construction began in 1958 and lasted two years. It is the first distillery erected in the country in the 20th century. It was designed by famous architect and former Royal Academy president Sir Albert Richardson. It is located in the town of Advie, Scotland, in the Speyside region. The plant is located about 1 km south of the River Spey. However, it gets its water for production from another source, the Achvochkie Burn stream. Tormore 26-Year-Old is a pale whisky from the Speyside region, distilled in 1992 and aged for more than a quarter of a century - 26 years. It was bottled in 2018 in an edition of only 258 bottles at 45.7% ABV, by Hunter Laing as part of "The First Edition" series of exceptional whiskies. This unique beverage has tropical aromas with caramelized pineapple and dried apples. During the tasting, notes of cantaloupe melon, orange and a large dose of creamy vanilla appear on the tongue.
