He was a court juror in 1344 and 1345, and was recorded as a Kraków councilman in 1347, 1356, 1361 and 1364. He multiplied his wealth not only through his merchant activities, but also as a banker, acting as an intermediary in transferring sums of money collected by papal collectors to Flanders bankers. An event is indirectly connected with his person - the famous congress of monarchs in Krakow in September 1364 (in the tradition for a long time erroneously combined after the chronicler Jan Długosz with the wedding of Emperor Charles IV with Princess Elisabeth, granddaughter of Casimir the Great, which took place in 1363). The congress was honored with a feast given by the council at the city's expense to present the capital Krakow with dignity. As one of the most promising townsmen of the time, Wierzynek was the host at it. There is speculation that the feast given by the city may have taken place in his home. A well-known legend, based on Dlugosz's accounts, which are a century later than these events, speaks of lavishly bestowing on the guests, even silverware from the tables. Among other things, Nicholas owned a house in the Market Square, having bought it from Andrew of Bochnia (No. 49). He married the daughter of Jan Luczmann (no. 54), unknown by name, and had sons Albert, Jekel and Hensel. On sale for the last time! Estimated price: 250-280 zloty
