Domaine des Nugues, Fleurie 0.75L 13.5%, vintage 2019; Beaujolais Cru, Gilles Gelin, Julienas 0.75L 13.5%, vintage 2016; Domaine des Nugues - Beaujolais soils are divided into northern and southern soils, with the town of Villefranche-sur-Saône in between. The best plots are on the hillsides, with most granite and slate, leaving the lower slopes with more stone and clay. The southern half of the region has flatter terrain with richer, sandstone- and clay-based soils with some limestone patches. Fleurie from Domaine des Nugues has a refined expression of berries, fresh plums and black currants enhanced by spices in the background. An enchanting beginning is followed by well-defined notes of black fruits and black berries, finishing with spicy notes. Juliénas is, along with Saint-Amour, the northernmost Cru of Beaujolais. It extends over four communes - Juliénas, Jullié, Émeringes and Pruzzily. The soil here is very poor and consists mainly of granite in varying degrees of weathering, in places granite covered by Mesozoic alluvial deposits. The wines of the Juliénas region are among the fuller and richer Beaujolais. They have a full and rich aroma of small red fruits, dominated by raspberries and cherries, with a hint of ripe peaches. The wines are full and fleshy with a pleasant spiciness. The wines are also suitable for medium-long storage due to their structure. Estimated price: 280-400 PLN
