The first Polish insurance certificate issued by Towarzystwo Ogniowe that was established on June 4, 1807 by the Ruling Commission of the Dutchy of Warsaw. It coveres the area of the entire Duchy and took over the structure and outstanding liablilities of both Prussian insurance companies, which as a result of Napoleon's invasion and resulting mass withdrawl of the Prussians from Polish territories became insolvent for fire losses and both were liquidated.
This particular insurance certificate was issued on October 12, 1808 and it covered a wooden house and stables. The certificate is filled with handwritten ink and for specific person indicated by name and surname. Denominated in thalers. At the end of the certificate there is a seal and signature of the mayor of the city of Leszno.
This unique item is for the first time being offered at the auction market both in Poland and entire Europe. Its important to highlight how well this document is preserved. Few folds and creases but overall paper is firm with genuine blue colour. This unique item should not only be in the interest of collectors, but also companies and people associated with the insurance market. A similar piece is illustrated in the book published on the occasion of the "200 years of insurance" for the largest Polish insurance company PZU.
Extremely rare, beautifull and of great historical imporance item that will be a highlight of any collection and at the same time will emphasize its prestige.
